Privacy policy

Last updated June 14, 2022

Stroll Network  (“Stroll”, “Us”, “We”, “Our”) is a meeting platform that helps users make the most of their time with trusted contacts. Stroll is operated by <Company name> a company organized under the laws of Canada, headquartered at <Address>

We are committed to protecting your rights and your privacy, while allowing you to share the content you generate with the people you want. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains what data We collect about you and how We store, analyze and share the data.

This Policy applies to websites, apps, events and other services We operate under the Stroll brand. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as Our “services” in this Policy. We collect data about you through the Stroll mobile application, which may also include smartwatch and headphone data where applicable. This Policy applies to all Personal Information whether collected online or offline. The Policy also explains your rights with regards to your data, and how to contact Us to request access, corrections, transfer, restriction, or deletion of the data We have collected about you.

Please read through it carefully. While We take careful precautions to protect your data and privacy, the goal of Stroll is to share information with others you trust. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use Stroll.

How We collect data

  • Sensor data from your devices such as geographic location or steps walked.

  • Cookies, tags, and identifiers We assign you so We can identify you when you use the application and persist your state within Our application or website.

  • We may use a third-party mobile analytics service to review the quality and functionality of Our mobile applications. This information is managed separately from your user information, and is intended solely for technical support and usage measurement.

What data We collect and how we use it

We collect personal information about you. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Your name so We can identify you to others.

  • Your email address for messaging and password confirmation/recovery, as well as marketing and feature updates and legal notifications.

  • Your phone number for messaging and password confirmation/recovery.

  • A profile photo and bio so others can find you.

  • Social handles so We can identify you to others.

  • Precise location information related to a Stroll. Precise location is information that describes your location with the same or greater resolution as a latitude and longitude with three or more decimal places. We use this to measure distance walked, ensure companions are together when Strolling, and prevent fraud.

  • User content, included but not limited to audio, text notes, images, and videos, that you record during a Stroll and may refer to afterwards. We may interpret this information (for example, transcribing audio) and augment it (for example, identifying a task, contact, or URL) to enhance your record of a Stroll.

  • Health and fitness data related to the time and distance walked, which may be shared with the HealthKit API.

  • Payment information, if and when Stroll launches a paid version of its services.

  • Contacts, meaning a social graph that lists who else you know on the platform and how you’re connected to them, so you can see your contacts’ connections.

  • Post-Stroll Feedback related to topics you discussed with your companion, which We use to help recommend future companions with similar interests.

  • Customer support data generated during support requests, including communications and diagnostics, to troubleshoot problems and resolve your questions.

  • Search history: Information about searches performed in the app, such as those to find data you’ve recorded or people you’ve gone on a Stroll with, so We can learn how to improve the networking features of Stroll.

  • Identifiers: Information to identify your account, such as a screen name, handle, account ID, assigned user ID, customer number, probabilistic identifier, or other user- or account-level ID that can be used to identify you or your account.

  • Device ID: Device-level identification numbers to verify the user account and installation and prevent fraudulent use.

  • Usage data and product interaction: We may track interactions such as app launches, taps, clicks, scrolling information, or other information about how you interact with the app to better understand usage and improve user experience.

  • Diagnostics, such as crash data or logs’ and performance data such as launch time, hang rate, energy use, or other data so We can diagnose and resolve problems.

  • We collect web analytics data when you visit Our website or download the application, including but not limited to, browser, ISP, source IP address, referring URL, entry and exit page, pages visited, time on site, timestamps, and operating system. This information helps Us understand users and streamline Our services, identify security issues, and collect broad demographic data about Our users and visitors.

  • We may receive information from others related to their interactions with you, including the completion of a Stroll, the establishment of a connection in a social graph, and metadata such as images, audio, or text notes you have mutually agreed to share. This information may appear on their profile page, and in the news feeds of other users, according to sharing permissions.

We may create anonymized data (by removing personally identifiable information such as contact details) that We use for internal purposes such as analytics, demographics, behavioral analysis, and service improvement that help Us improve the Stroll platform.

We do not attempt to tie the data We collect to other data sets that would enable it to be linked to your identity. The data We collect is used solely on the Stroll platform (mobile and cloud) to identify you and share the contents of meetings with people who have your permission to access it.

You are under no obligation to provide any Personal Information to Us at any time. However, if you choose to withhold some Personal Information, We may be unable to provide you with certain services.
